About the Choir School of Hartford
The Choir School of Hartford is a diverse community of students from the Greater Hartford area, representing a myriad of ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. The Choir School of Hartford is a non-profit organization, offering tuition-free music education for children and youth between the ages of 8–18, admitted via an audition process. We are hosted at Trinity Episcopal Church and meet on Tuesdays / Thursdays from 6:00–7:30pm and Sundays from 9:00–11:00am.
The program emphasizes age-diverse mentorship, with a goal to develop musicianship as well as community. We follow the RSCM Voice for Life curriculum, which is a series of self-paced music workbooks. The program year kicks-off in August for a week-long Choir Course Week
where choristers rehearse, play games, go on field trips, and explore music together.

- intensive choral training
- solo/small ensemble opportunities

Vision: The act of singing together inspires the soul and builds friendships, life skills, work ethic, and self-esteem unique to the world of music.
Description of Program: Through the study of voice training, music theory, keyboard instruction, team work, and community responsibility, the Choir School provides an opportunity for young people to explore their potential as individuals and musicians within the comprehensive training program of the Voice for Life scheme developed by RSCM. As a scholarship program it affords this rewarding opportunity equally to all. Girls and boys in grades three through high school are eligible. It is our belief that music is a discipline that enhances learning skills across the academic field and provides a more fulfilling life experience.
